2023 NIKE XC TOWN TWILIGHT

 

 MEET INFORMATION

Cross Country Town USA, the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation (NSAF), the Terre Haute Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Terre Haute South Vigo High School are excited for the opportunity to host the 2023 Nike XC Town Twilight at the LaVern Gibson Cross Country course, host of 15 national championships and this year’s IHSAA State and NXR Midwest Regional Cross Country Championships.  

Everyone is invited to participate in our JV, Open and Championships divisions against the best teams from the Midwest and the nation in a festive championship atmosphere complete with fanfare and fireworks for all to enjoy. The boys and girls USA Race of Champions, both Presented by Nike, will take place after sunset “under the lights!”

 
**Our event will be NFHS sanctioned.** All teams and individuals must represent his/her high school and be in good standing with the National Federation of State High School Association.

What High Schools can compete? 

This meet is sanctioned by the NFHS.  All HS teams that are NHFS members are welcome to attend.

Entry Fees:

$140.00 per team of 10(Open/ROC)

$45.00 per individual athlete

$350.00 bulk fee per school

5:00pm- Course opens for warmups and walk through

7:00pm- JV GIRLS

7:30pm- JV BOYS

8:00pm- OPEN GIRLS

8:30pm- OPEN BOYS

9:00pm- RACE OF CHAMPIONS GIRLS

9:30pm- RACE OF CHAMPIONS BOYS

 

The boys and girls Race of Champions sections will seeded by meet management and will include the top 30 teams that enter each section.  Teams not selected for these championship races, will be moved to the Open race.

Which race should I register for:

 

The JV and open sections will be open for registration at the coaches’ discretion. The Race of Champions will be limited to the top 30 teams that enter in each race. Any teams that do not make the ROC field will be placed in the Open section.

 

Packet Pick-up:

Course opens at 5:00pm for packet pick up and course run-throughs

*ALL PACKETS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED ON SITE AT LAVERN GIBSON-in the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center. 

 

Retail Sales:

Nike apparel will be for sale beginning at 2:30pm on race day.

 

Bib Number/Timing Chip: 

Shoe chips will be used.  Each athlete will be assigned two shoe chips that match their bib number.  Athletes must wear assign bib number and chips.  Chips will be collected in the finish line area.

 

Box Assignments: 

Box number assignments will be included in the packets and will be available at check in. They will also be available at NationalScholastic.org.

 

Results:

Results will be available on RunnerSpace.com, AthleticNET and NationalScholastic.org

 

Spectator Admission:

$5 per person, children under 10 are free. Parking is FREE!

 

Water, Food, Beverage:

Bottles of Gatorade and water will be available to athletes on site.

 

Lost and Found:

Any lost and found items can be picked up at the packet pick up area in the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center. (Same location as packet pick up and awards pick up.)
