Ava Parekh, a junior at Latin School of Chicago, took third in the girls championship race at the XC Town USA Meet of Champions, presented by The Garrett Companies. Parekh covered the 5-kilometer layout in 17:36 to edge senior Analee Weaver of Stillwater Area in Minnesota (17:36.9) for third place. Parekh led five Illinois female athletes placing in the top 16 overall in the championship race.
