Emma Wilson, a sophomore at Huntington University in Indiana, took second in the women's elite/college/open race Saturday at the XC Town USA Meet of Champions, presented by The Garrett Companies. Wilson, a two-time Indiana state champion at Greencastle High, covered the 6-kilometer layout in 20:18.7 to finish runner-up to former Washington All-American and British professional athlete Amy-Eloise Markovc (20:17.3), representing Reebok and Boston Athletic Association. After four consecutive 5-kilometer victories this fall, it marked the first 6-kilometer competition for Wilson since last year's NCAA Division 1 Championships, where she competed for Illinois at the same venue.
